It's November. Where's the unlocked phone? :(

I know, I know. It'll be out when it's out. I'm just getting anxious for it. The NY stores are sold out every time I try to reserve one to see if I can get one "off contract, device only" as other have done.

Anyone else in NYC have luck doing this in the past week or so?
 
Impatient? We're barely through half of the first day of the month. Try reserving 5min prior to 9:00. I was able to and no my clocks aren't off.
 
The nerve of them! It's been Nov 1 for HOURS! HUNDREDS OF MINUTES! WTF?

It's not like I was freaking out when they first came out like so many others. I didn't rush to buy one or switch carriers to get one. Or get panicky....OMG THE TRACKING SAYS IT WILL BE HERE 2 DAYS AFTER LAUNCH!!111. I'd say I've been patient.

Good lord people. Calm down. I already I know they'll release when they release. My main question is directed to NY folks who have reserved to buy one and get it as "device only" in NY. If that's not you, you don't need to comment.
 
Also curious. I'm really hoping it becomes available here (USA) soon because I want to take one for a relative abroad and I'm leaving the country on November 21st. If there's a 1-2 week shipping delay then things are gonna get tight.

No, not in NY. I'm in Chicago, but I am a Giants fan. :D
 
I'm also quite anxious to know. I contacted them via "chat" and the rep had no idea when it would be available. Frustrating, since it IS in virtually every other country.
 
I just came back from an Apple store trying to purchase the ATT version as device only at full price.

The manager informed me that I should wait to do this to ensure I get a full unlocked version, and told me to come back on November 14th, as that's release day (so he says).

Take it for what it's worth. I ended up walking out with a device only phone anyhow, but that's what I've been told as of now.
 
You will most likely have it on the 11th or shortly after imo. I say this based on the fact that the phone is going to be introduced in several new markets around the world (as unlocked devices) as well as smaller carriers on the 11th. Good chance this is also when the unlocked phone will hit shelves.
 
I would also guess that it would be after the 14th at least so that apple store ATT buyers aren't tempted to go return and rebuy unlocked.

From the get-go it seemed pretty obvious that with so many att users in the US and the great relationship between apple and att, it was all perfectly planned.

November 14th is what the Genius told me yesterday at my Apple store too... so that's probably a good guesstimate.
 
Every country is getting them unlocked, why not the States?

I'm not from the US and I'm just curious... :confused:

SKYWEST your Device only model was unlocked correct? Based on this article from 9 - 5 Mac Apple has been doing the device only since June and it should be the SIM free unlock.
