So I was driving to work this morning listening to the local radio station (Mix 108) and they had a headline saying "Some news that is going to shake up the Apple world." Well, being an Apple fanatic, I of course had to hear what it was. I got to work, and sat in my car waiting to hear this insane news. New tablet? Free Mac's for everyone? ______?????!

No such luck. They said "A group of 15 year old kids created software allowing you to install unauthorized applications on your iPhone."

..... Seriously?? Isn't this just jailbreaking, which has been around for how many years now? Then to make things worse, they tried to say the URL for purplera1n.com on the radio, "Purple RaLn?" "Purplera Ln?" They never got it right.

Oh well, I guess this is breaking news to them.

True, and right now I am living in northern Minnesota for school so I guess it takes ~2 years for news to eventually work its way up this far north :)
I guess cold weather slows those electrons. :p

Breaking news: We now have the first African-American president!
No no no. It will take the electrons longer than that to travel to Minnesota. If it takes 2 years, they won't hear about President Obama until January 2011. :p

You have computers in Minnesota? That kind of power in the hands of a state with your electorate scares me.

Me either. I grew up in the wrong time period, for sure! He'll probably be the next Steve Jobs.

I don't think he is 15. Isn't it "Geohot"? If so, I could have sworn he graduated/attends college and was given a nice sports car in exchange for his first unlocked iPhone 2G.

People still listen to radio?

Satellite radio is a rip off in my opinion, and at 7 AM, I don't really want to listen to music. Thus the radio station I listen to: a morning show with the occasional song. Makes for a good drive, especially when I get to laugh at the stupid things the personalities say.

I just load up my iphone with music and podcasts and plug it into the car stereo. Can't stand homogenous ad-laden radio.
