Heaven has finaly opend !

Starting last monday iMac's were showing up in all the shops that normaly are carrying Mac's.
After shopping around to find the best offer, Friday afternoon at 5 pm I confirmed my order and 3 hrs later at 8 pm it came trough my door :) inclusive an upgrade of another 256 Ram.
that's the good thing with living in Singapore....shopping goes on until 10 pm.

And what a beauty it is !
Yes it's true, once it's stands on your desk you will realize that the base is actually a bit bigger then what it looks like on the adds but then ......hey! there is a G4 in there !
And after moving my power mac G4/533 Mhz (that was for me the first computer that made using a computer real fun) over to another desk, I had a lot of space leftover on the very same desk.
So now my iMac stand's here like a piece of art.
Everthing works , no "fallen apple logo" and no "slanting screen" and with my cable connection the baby rocks !

The first thing I did to try out the quality of the LCD was to play a DVD.
"A Bug's Life" ! woahhh....fantastic and lucky me...no dead pixels :)
altough I am not to happy with the speakers that come with the iMac. They just can't blow you away so I use my "Creative/Cambridge Soundworks" and they can move my furnitures ! The ones that came with the iMac I transferred to my power mac and they are doing nicely over there.

The only negative thing besides the speakers are the cable lenght of both the speakers and the keyboard. Not every one has the space that Apple shows you on their adds....but then...I am sure there are some extention cables out there if needed. (the extention I used on my power mac keyboard does not fit with the iMac keyboard cable)

Today I went to "IKEA" to look for some furnitures and when I passed by the computer furniture area I saw iMac (shells only) in all colours sitting on the display furnitures. One year ago there were ONLY peeeceees :) and today in my mail I recieved a promotional flyer from the local cable provider (TV and Computer) promoting the Disney Channel and guess what...you sign up and you have the chance to win 1 of 2 iMac's with superdrive !!!!
It looks like Mac's are becomming the talk of the town

So...no regrets here

:D
