Itune Can't detect my Iphone

So I was freeing up some space on my macbook, I copy my Itune folder into my external hard drive and deleted my itune folder in my laptop...... of course that was the problem... My music library is gone and everything. So I took back my itune folder in my harddrive and place it back into my laptop.... whats my next step?? It doesn't let me add new songs into my iphone... any help?
