If anyone could help it would be great, my whole method of organizing my iTunes library depends on this method working.

I had it set up so I could put different sort-tags, identifier-tags, etc in the comment field and iTunes search function would search in the comments field.

I cannot remember if iTunes behaved like this previous to this version that i have now (10.2 34), but now when I search iTunes is obviously ignoring the comment field entries.

The search function, using 10.2 (34), DOES seach the comments field inside of certain smart playlists I have but NOT in the main music list... weird.
 
I"ve experienced the same issue... really annoying as I've sorted and structured all of my music through the comment field from day one.

If anyone out there knows how to handle this, please holler.
 
Mystery solved

It worked when you displayed the Comments field, and didn't work when you didn't display it.
