I'm fairly confident AllthingsD is correct on their date, but will there be a finalized version of iTunes 10.5 (or 11, who knows) on the Oct 4th event? Or will it come sooner/later?

It could be announced on the event. The thing I'm wondering about is wether they will announce new iPods alongside the new iPhone. There should be new iPods around september as well.

Pretty sure it would be iTunes 11. Hopefully it's lean and streamlined, iTunes has really gotten slow. I've been trying out Zune lately, it seems a lot quicker (probably due to the hardware acceleration).
