I cannot get iTunes 10.5 going on my PC at all. Installs OK but won't launch.

My question.

If I install iTunes 10.5 on a seperate PC, update my iPhone to iOS5 can I then go back to my other PC which has iTunes 10.3 and restore my phone from my backup to get all my stuff back?

Nope. You need 10.5 to do anything with a device running ios 5. I would copy your iTunes folder from the machine with 10.3 to the one with 10.5.

Start command prompt as an administrator.

Type the following and hit enter:

Code:
net user administrator start:yes

That is the only method I could use. Seems 10.5 simply won't run without proper system wide admin access.

While I've managed OK so far, enabling the administrator instance could cause certain problems for you.

Managed to get it going. Uninstalled all Apple software. Used CCleaner to clean the registry and then manually searched and deleted any iTunes entries from the registry.

Installed 10.5 and it worked fine. Updated my iPhone to 5.0 so all good.

Thanks for tips guys.
