iTunes 10.5b2 won't install - HELP!

Hi, I had a bit of a mroogle, but couldn't find anything about iTunes latest beta not installing.

I get to the point where I have to put in my mac login password, and then click install, and then nothing happens.

I am on Lion DP4, running in 32 bit mode at the moment, anyone got any hints or tips to get this working?

I have rebooted about 4 times now.

Have you tried it in 64-bit mode? Re-downloading the installer?

I have tried re-downloading in both 64 and 32 and installing in both 64 and 32, neither seems to work.

Will try downloading once more in 32 bit mode and installing in 32 bit mode, but this shouldn't make a difference right?

Nope, still won't install, and now I can't sync apps, because it let me update the OS on the phone.

This is lame, anyone got any hints? Or should I just wipe my machine, install SL and start from scratch?

removing previous version of itunes worked for me try removing all itunes related software from computer

Tells me iTunes is part of the OS and can't be removed.

Screw it, CLean install after a backup.

Dont you have to do a clean install. I didnt know you can "updaate"

Clean install of Lion and it is now working - about time.

If you have this happen to you and find a better solution, please post it, I'd hate for poor people to have to reinstall their whole OS just to use iTunes.
