I have an iPhone 4 running OS4.1 and I am jailbroken. Last week I noticed that my "other" section in the memory bar when plugging my iPhone into iTunes was showing to be quite large at around 5GB. I didn't think anything of it and went on doing my syncing. I then started to run out of free space on my phone. I couldn't update my apps because there apparently wasn't enough free space. This caused me to delete a large game off of my phone to make more room. My apps updated and everything was good. Then, a few days later I get the same thing. When I tried to go into iTunes and re-sync my phone to delete some things, I was now prompted with an alert saying that iTunes cannot read the contents of my iPhone 4 and must be restored to factory settings. I cannot do anything with my phone in iTunes except restore or eject.
Is there any way to fix the iTunes read error? What about a fix for the storage issue with the "other" section? If I do have to do a restore, is there a way to preserve my jailbreak without having to upgrade to 4.2.1 and then downgrade with TinyUmbrella to 4.1 and re-jailbreak?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
