i used to keep all my music in the one folder seperated into subfolders if a artist had more than one song...iTunes 3 went and put every artist into it's own folder which is fine by me but then it took lots of songs and placed them in the parent directory instead of the artist of the song which is not fine by me...
eg:before rootmusicdirectory>artist>album>song
or rootmusicdirectory>song
because the songs all contain the artist and name in the filename...

now it is either option one upstairs or
root>artist>album>nothing at all
and the song is just placed in root with a "1" before the ".mp3" in it's file name...

anyone understand that blab?

There is a way to turn their auto moving feature off.

Go to preferences and advanced and there should be a checkbox saying something along the lines of "move music files to music folder".

Just uncheck the box

I don't mind the fact that it moves the songs...I don't like the fact that it organises them mistakenly where it makes a artists folder for songs but then puts those songs elsewhere

Other than that little problem, what are your (everyone's) impressions of the program? I love iTunes, and I'm currently running v.2.0.2 and I love it...I just haven't made the switch yet.
