Hey everyone. I am running an iMac 10.4 with Tiger. Until recently, I had iTunes 9 working on my iMac and then I decided to clean out the computer by reinstalling the operating system. I transfered the dmg file for iTunes 9 from my external back onto my iMac and attempted to install the file. Instead the damned thing said I need Tiger 10.9 or higher (of course). What I find odd is this is the 4th time I have reinstalled the operating system and I have been successful in installing version 7 and 8 straight from the file until recently. Even version 8 prompts me with the same error as 9 does when opening the file. So if anyone can assist me in upgrading back to iTunes 9 I would greatly appreciate it.

You never ran updates after reinstalling it seems, that should get you up to Mac OS X 10.4.11, which is compatible with iTunes 9 but not iTunes 10.
