Anyone using their arport express and having issues with streaming to their stereo?

After the 5.0 iT download, it appears my PM G5 won't play a song via airtunes...

When I select the AirPort Express it stops playing the song and I have to switch back to my computer to listen on my local speakers.

Anyone else have this issue?

I have check my connections and everything works fine from my PB's...

Eh...

Cheers.

It works fine off of my PowerBooks. I also found issues while sharing another playlist and streaming that playlist of one of my PowerBooks. It skips and tries to buffer... So I don't do that anymore...

Who knows. Maybe I am the only one, or it has something to do with my wireless router. But it was fine at 4.9.

Did I mention how ugly the mini player was?

Nasty...

I had the problem with my original iBook G3, but I assumed the problem was simply that my 'book wasn't up to spec for iTunes 5. It works fine with my other computers.

What KIND of song? If iTunes reads it as a QuickTime file (as it will with some mp3s of questionable origin) it will not play the file over AirTunes, just the local speakers.

The solution is to use Terminal to set the files type (if you have installed Developer Tools):

/Developer/Tools/SetFile -t "docu" -c "macs" /path/to/mp3s/you/want/to/change/*.mp3

They are mostly MP3's and AAC.

I have OS X.4.2 on all my CPUs. It seems to only be my PM G5.

Screw it, I'll figure it out and post it if anyone cares.

I had the same problem. It confused my poor little brain for a while (I'd just ripped a CD and thought something had gone wrong with that).
No manner of flicking between Airtunes and the iMac speakers did anything.
However, a quit and restart of iTunes sorted it out for me.

Restarted the Express? Cut power for 15 seconds plus.

How about deleting the iTunes preferences?

done that. i meant to say above that i CANT do both. only internet or itunes (even with no security)

it seems that itunes5.01 and airport6.2 need to be revised somewhat!
