Hi:

So, I like this DRM-Less iTunes- maybe I will even start buying some now. The higher bit rate is almost acceptable now. So I d/led the new iTunes yesterday at work, and installed over an existing (and working!) 7.1.1 (I think!)

So, now, I cannot get iTunes to connect to the Internet. Worked fine before. I d/l one podcast a day... now it will not connect. I try to get to the iTunes store- nada now. Just an "Unable to connect, check your network connection" error message.

So- any ideas what I can try... or does anyone have an idea where I can get an older version to go back?

Thanks!

Dave

iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store (502) Error

This is driving me crazy.

I recently updated my Windoze Computer to the newest iTunes 7.2.035.

After the update, I receive the following error when I click the iTunes Store:

'iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. An unknown error occurred (502). Make sure your network connection is active and try again.'

My network connection is 'active'.

I tried the uninstall and reinstall routine, but received the same error.

Anything I should check?

I am running:

Windows XP Professional V5.1.2600
Service Pack 2
Build 2600

Thanks in advance...

P.S. I am seriously thinking about switching over to the iMac after I hear the latest news from WWDC.

Maybe then simple upgrades will simply work.

Firewall Lock

Yup, tried that...still no go.

Any other options other than throwing my windoze machine out the window?

My guess is that it is a Firewall Block.

I had iTunes on my Windoze machine at work and when I did the upgrade to the 'latest and greatest' I too received the dreaded '502 Error'...

I found out later from one of my co-workers that iTunes was put on the block list of programs able to run in Windoze XP.

I guess that means no more music at work for me...

Just my two cents.
