Kind of a weird scenario here... I've been spending the past week converting my FLAC library into ALAC (using Max). I always have imported the output ALAC files into iTunes manually; then I use iVolume for sound level normalization.. I've always had Sound Check turned "OFF" in both iTunes & my Apple TV...
Anyways, starting a few albums ago, I noticed that whenever I ran iVolume after importing, iVolume would report all imported tracks as having "No Tags." I also noticed that after copying my music, iTunes no longer checked album art & volume like I'm used to seeing--it copied music, then that was it... If I then re-convert those same tracks into ALAC w/in iTunes itself, iVolume works. I swear, I haven't changed any settings in either Max or iTunes. Any suggestions? Needing to convert to ALAC a second time w/in iTunes to tag is getting old...
ETA: well, I turned Sound Check ON in iTunes & imported some music, and this time iTunes went through the familiar routine of determining volume & analyzing album art after the files were imported into my music library. I'm just confused why all of a sudden iTunes quit doing this (& resulting in messed-up tags, according to iVolume) when I had Sound Check OFF like always...
