If i tap my trackpad (as a button) on say, the pause/play button in iTunes (latest ver), it just sticks and does nothing until I move the trackpad (move the pointer off the button)...

regular button works okay.

hrmmmm

Sorry for being a bit slow, but do you mean you click on a button using the trackpad but the click doesn't register until you move the cursor away from the button? Is this only the case for buttons or is it the case for clicking anywhere? :)

So this is only in iTunes? I've found the iTunes 7 Play button to be a bit sticky, but that's using a mouse or a trackpad on two different machines. It seems to have particular trouble in Mini Mode. I wonder if this is the same thing.

afaik only iTunes 7, I'll fiddle with others but yer. noticed only in iTunes thus far. I use the trackpad tap often (instead of the actual button).. convenient

Same here. You know, you can reset the trackpad by holding your palm over it (covering it) for about five seconds. That might help if it's a trackpad issue but I have a feeling this might be more of an iTunes issue. :(

Is my sense of humour really that bad? :D

I know it's how to reset PPC laptop trackpads and have no reason to think it doesn't apply to Intel machines too. When my iBook gets hot the trackpad can get pretty messed up but resetting it always fixes it.
