Let me begin by saying that i am pretty upset

I do enjoy the fact that one of the new features is that it consolidated the HD TV Shows into one item rather than two separate items, one for HD and one for SD, but that little convenience has led to 2 major problems that i have found with this.

about 2 weeks ago, i had downloaded 3 seasons of "The Office" in HD :D (cost a lot, but it was worth it ;) ) i had it set so that it would sync the most recent 5 episodes to my iPhone, and it worked fine and i still had ~6GB of free space remaining :)

The first was a problem i had with 8.0.1 was when syncing my iPhone. I had made no changes to my selections since the last time i had synced my iPhone 3G using iTunes 8.0, i just needed to sync the "Fring" app i had just downloaded, however, the new iTunes 8.0.1 alerted me that i cannot sync my content! it said i needed 16 GB of space when i only had about 6GB free :confused::confused:

i then went to the TV show section of my library and noticed the change: that where there were once 2 versions of "The Office", HD and SD, there was now only 1. I know this must be throwing off how it was working :(

The second problem i noticed has to do with the combining of the episodes also. It modified the "The Office" folder which is contained in my iTunes Library File System. I have about 65 GB of this TV show because i downloaded 3 seasons of HD. I noticed that my Time Machine Hard Drive was busy backing up 64.6 GB of files

It had completely re-Backed-up all of the HD episodes i had purchased because the files had been modified

Does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do to get my shows to sync correctly? or what i can do to get my 65GB of Time Machine space back? :(
