Itunes 8.1 crashing my Mac Pro

So immediately after itunes 8.1 update and restart my MacPro has been lagging big time. Firefox freezes, Mail freezes...everything is lagging...what gives?
i've fixed permissions and verified the disk, there are no errors.

anyone else experiencing issues with the update?

i'm running the latest os x update.

I just updated my Macbook Pro and I'm having no such issues. Why did you restart? Just for the sake of restarting or did the installer prompt you? Only reason I ask is because the installer did not prompt me to restart after installation.

Very odd issues you're having. Since, to my knowledge, iTunes upgrades don't touch any other apps, I'm surprised that firefox and your other apps are crashing - are you sure it's related to iTunes?

Yea, I didn't even reboot my MacBook and it went fine. Maybe trash iTunes and download the standalone package?
