ok im kinda confused...

itunes 8 is available...but ive just looked on the apple site and can see firmware 2.1 available for ipod touch ??

i take it the iphone 2.1 firmware is not out yet???

If you already upgraded to 2.0.x on your Touch then the update is Free. If you left it at a lower upgrade, then you get to pay for it. Rewards those who upgrade when they suppose too. I see the same coming eventually for the iPhone.

its not so much a reward as it is basically charging you for 2.0 and then giving you the upgrade for 2.1 for free. Otherwise touch users would be getting 2.0 for free if they waited until now to update.
