My iTunes 9.1 has been crashing consistently when downloading podcasts. At first it was only when I had "Allow simultaneous downloads" enabled (in which iTunes would crash during a multiple download session), yet now it seems to happen no matter what, as long as I am downloading something, which seems to be always podcasts (I am not 100% sure it hasn't crashed downloading other items, since it has crashed so many times). I get the spinning beach ball, than my entire system freezes, forcing a hard reboot (power off and on).
I have tried completely uninstalling and then re-installing iTunes according to Apple's instructions (per their support site), deleting the downloads folder, and I have booted from the Snow Leopard DVD and have used disk utility off of that to repair my disk and permissions. Nothing has helped. I wonder if it is simply a 9.1 problem, or something else. And no, I do not have or run "Cinch" (apparently others have had iTunes problems with this software).
Running 10.6.3 on a 24" Core2Duo iMac 2.8 with 4 GB RAM (late 2008 model).
Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.
