Today i found that double-clicking a song changes it's genre to a number (Rock to 17 for example). Not with all songs, but it's still a lot. Any ideas?

You have iTunes Ver. 9.2.1 (4), 
re-download the iTunes dmg file at http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
and reinstall it to get 9.2.1 (5), it was reposted to fix that issue.
