iTunes 9.2 and iPhone 3GS syncing

I just installed the 9.2 version of the iTunes and when I try to sync my iPhone 3GS it opens a screen asking me to sign up for o Mobile Me account and I cannot get the screen where you choose your sync options. An y idea what the problem is? Is it possible that from now on syncing will be done only through Mobile Me?
