Many people hate the new bright metallic skin in version 9.

To change skin to version 8 [See screenshot]:

1- Download iTunes.rsrc.zip
2- Go to Applications folder. Secondary Click in iTunes, show package contents/Contents/Resources
3- Put iTunes.rsrc there and REPLACE.

Done!
And keep the file for future reference. iTunes updates override the skin.

Thanks for sharing. I prefer the new look better than 8 overall & would prefer to go back to the version 6 look for some elements. For instance, I do not like the bland elements such as the bland blue-grey opaque scrollbars.

Aqua scrollbars & other elements would match the SL UI. That said, the bland scrollbars did somehow look cool with the version 8 black background in grid view. But version 9 replaced the black background with while and kept the bland scrollbars...

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 3.0: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_1; en-us) AppleWebKit/531.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.3 Safari/531.9)

is there a way to simply have the black background from 8 and still keep the cool metallic title bar look in 9?

:)

iTunes 9 is not ugly but I think Apple did a bad move changing the appearance. It doesn't fit to OS X default.

And something else, in case you want the scrollbars in Marble (iTunes theme), you can download an easy installer/uninstaller. Aqua Extreme

Barbie, It is possible but I don't know how to do it. Try ThemePark
