iTunes 9 - impossible to add songs after OSX reinstall

Hello

I had to replace my HD and do a fresh install of Snow Leopard and had all my apps transferred from my MBP. I put my iTunes folder in the correct place but it is impossible to add songs either by double clicking or adding to library from the iTunes menu. I'm going mental. Any ideas?
