I've been playing around with foxytunes tonight and it does have an alarm clock. However, there is nothing to give you gradual volume increases, and I'm not sure how it would handle the alarm when the computer is asleep/off.

Is there anything else you've found that works well?

I think Aurora is fantastic. It can control EyeTV as well as iTunes to wake you up any way you wish. And it's completely free

Thanks for the suggestions. After taking a look at all 3, I've downloaded Aurora. we'll see how that works.

I'm actually surprised that apple doesn't have something built in to Tiger.

Thanks for the help as well. I picked up Aurora as well. Nice and free. How I like it. Yeah, I would have thought Apple would have thought about this. But it doesnt matter to me much as long as I can do it.

you can use ical and then just write a simple applescript to make an alarm clock how ever you want it to. i really like it becuase that way it is integrated with eveything through ical and you dont have to worry about forgeting to set new events
