Why does iTunes handle album art so poorly? I have about 5 well known albums that it can't find album art for. I will give the Zune software 1 point...it handles album art very well.

Please fix tis feature Apple!!

If the album isn't on iTunes Store then it won't find it.

Not so. I downloaded my Beatles and George Harrison artwork from iTMS when iTunes 7 first came out. So, unless I've missed the announcement, they do also have covers for albums not offered by iTMS.

As I understand it the database the Zune uses has some user supplied artwork that cn be of questionable quality.

Really?

I thought they'd have to have the rights to supply album artwork, which is usually linked to the rights to publish the album.

Oh well, live and learn.

Well that certainly sucks!! I have some albums that are not in the iTunes store (ie: Tool ) and have had to find my own album artwork. No big deal, just a pain is all.

iTunes has found some really obscure albums that I have in my collection which are definitely not for sale in the UK store :)

I have some Tool albums and they were found easy enough via itunes.

I find that if my album/artist/track names aren't correct, iTunes has a hard time finding the art sometimes. Might want to check your ID3's.

I think it's coming from a database like GraceNote, which also supplies the track names for CDs you rip yourself. They certainly have track info on CDs that iTMS doesn't sell...
