I am looking for a similar program to iTunes and a google search did not give me any useful results.

What I am looking for is sort of a library software where I can have my movies/tvshows/homevids in a similar arrangement with covers.

For movies, TV shows and music videos, I use Plex.

I'd second Plex, its great and allows you to stream from a device to others on the same network (or from outside your network if you know how to set it up right).
