iTunes and giving back up to friend

So the question is....

Can I give my back up disc to my friend as she has a new nano but very few songs to put on it. Would it require authorising on my part? Cheers.

Are we talking songs purchased from iTunes? Then yes you'll have to authorize her computer.

A mix actually. Okay so I will have to authorise her PC or connect her unit to my iMac. Will the XP vs OS X cause a problem?

Xp vs. OS X should make no difference. You don't have to connect anything to your computer. Songs not purchased from iTunes will have no issue (assuming they are unrestricted mp3s). The first time you try to play an iTunes purchased songs it will ask you to sign in to your account then to authorize the computer in use.
