I generally update my iOS apps via the device itself over the air (iPhone 6s iPad mini) rather than use the update app mechanism in iTunes. I've noticed that when wired synching my devices with iTunes the apps I've purchased and updated OTA on my devices don't seem to show that they're updated on the iTunes app page after the sync. If I remember right this has been going on since at least Yosemite I believe but I distinctly remember there was a point in the past that syncing an iOS device (who's apps were up to date) would also update the apps in iTunes.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is there something I'm missing that's causing this or is it just a bug?

I'm running El Capitan and the latest iTunes software.
