itunes and iphotos libraries...?

I know that this has been discussed before, but I need some solid answers please...

I'm running OS 10.3.3 with iTunes/iPhoto 4 and I have 2 users on my machine. The primary user (me) and another user (my wife). What I need to do is to import a CD in iTunes while under my account and have that CD show up in my wifes Library when she switches over to her account. I've set up a separate folder to store all the songs and it just doesn't work. Same goes for iPhoto....I just need to share libraries among 2 users on the same computer...Why can't I get this to work?

You can ignore the hack to allow multiple instances of iTunes to run at the same time if you want.
