I have been tinkering with iTunes on and off for a few years. I have finally decided to sort out my media library. All my music is organised in folders and named appropriately (mostly). It is stored on a NAS. When I import the files iTunes tends to drop the location all the time.

I have started to look at using iTunes server which gives me all the files without having to import them into the library. This is great, however on the occasion that a group of files are not together (i.e A personal compilation album). I can only edit info on files 1 at a time. Is there a program which will allow me to batch edit the files so i can arrange so iTunes will display as I wish?

Does this make sense?

EXAMPLE
I have approx 500 individual music files, which are just all 1 off singles or 1 hit wonders. I keep these in a personal collection. When imported to iTunes, they have been grouped and stay as a Album.
When I use iTunes server, they are not shown as grouped. i can select each file individually and make it part of the compilation. However I can not select multiple files and edit at once, like if the files have been imported.

Thanks
