Hello,

Like many others, I'd like to remove Ping from the sidebar in iTunes.

I've tried using the Terminal command
defaults write com.apple.iTunes disablePingSidebar 1
but it doesn't have any effect.

Does anyone have an idea of why this Terminal command isn't working for me? Not sure if it's an issue with Terminal, the command, or something I'm doing wrong.

BTW, I do have Administrator privileges on this Mac.

Thanks,
Leigh

That command disables the ping sidebar (like the genius sidebar on the right), not the left sidebar icon.

Thanks, J. J.

Maybe I should just downgrade to iTunes 9. I miss the old icon... colors... lack of Ping...

Just be aware that if you downgrade you can't sync with the new iPod touch, nano, or shuffle.
