Ok, my hard drive was getting full.
I have a spare 650 GIG drive, so I thought i'd move my itunes library to the spare drive.

I found an article (http://lifehacker.com/5825583/how-to-keep-your-itunes-library-when-it-wont-fit-on-your-hard-drive) that described how to do it.

First I moved all of my media to the new drive.
Then I moved the following files:
iTunes Music Library.xml
iTunes Library.itl
iTunes Library Extras.itdb
iTunes Library Genius.itdb

Then I deleted the originals (thought; no big deal, I have time machine).

Went to Time Machine and added the external drive to the list of drives to back up. It tried to back up, but failed saying there wasn't enough disk space.

I launch iTunes. Changed the preference setting for iTunes Media Folder Location to the new drive. Restart iTunes. It's like a fresh install. Doesn't see my music, movies, playlists, etc.

I say oh well.

Enter Time Machine. It shows no back ups. They used to be there. The HDD that I use for time machine shows 800GB in use, so I know the backups are there someplace. TM just doesn't find them.

Now i'm saying other things.

Any ideas how to restore either iTunes or Time Machine?

Now I'm saying worse things.

Update iTunes restored, Time Machine still lost

I found an article at apple saying you can hold 'option' while launching iTunes and it will ask you to choose a library. I chose the iTunes Library.itl file that I moved, and now everything is restored.

Still no luck with Time Machine. All help is appreciated.

Anyone know where I can find a clock tower and a lightning rod?

Thanks!!
