I was just thinking when you watch a movie in iTunes, and try to blow it up to full screen, the animation isn't smooth at all.... While Quicktime X's definitely is... Can anyone explain this??? I'm pretty sure it has to do with core animation or not being 64-bit... (truthfully i have no clue)

Actually, it doesn't depend on any of those things. The two biggest factors are: the resolution of the movie file, and the quality of the scaling algorithm used for viewing at other than 100% zoom. Based on what you've reported, my guess is that QuickTime Player X uses a better scaler than iTunes does, since QTX has access to newer APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) due to its having Snow Leopard as a minimal requirement.
