Hi,

I have an iMac with an internal SSD and I would like to keep the iTunes app on the SSD but keep all the apps and media in the larger HDD. I can deal with the music and media part but I can't find a way to preserve my current iPhone settings. The iTunes install wants me to erase all apps and settings and start over.

Is there a way to preserve all apps and settings on the new iTunes install?

Note that migration assistant doesn't seem to do it because I don't want to copy over all the media files to the smaller SSD.

Thanks.

Solved.

It appears the iTunes folder must preserve its relationship to the folder where the iOS apps and settings are stored. The solution is to create an alias of the old iTunes folder on the HDD and replace the new iTunes folder created by iTunes on the SDD. All my iOS settings and devices (iPhone, iPad) were preserved, as did all media.
