iTunes apps/download/recycle bin

Not sure if this was posted already, could not find it anywhere. Every time I download a new app or update an app in iTunes, it ends up in my iMac recycle bin. This problem was present in OS X Leopard and now Lion. Any suggestions?

I noticed it as well... weird.

When iTunes downloads an updated app it deletes the old version which is what you see in the recycle bin. Happens in windows also.
