I am about to upgrade my Hard disk to a 500GB 7200rpm drive

I have a very very large iTunes library. I copied the whole "Music" folder from my mac and everything else onto my WD external for backup so when i get my new drive i can do a fresh install and move them back over

When i get on my fresh install....do i just copy the contents of the Music folder i backed up on my External over to the music folder on the new install?

Will my iTunes music and all that just show up in iTunes? or do you import it?

I know it may sound a little dumb. This is the first time i have ever had to do this one

Cheers

Much appreciate the help

Yes it should work. . .not a guarantee. Just looked into mind to determine if this can be done, and see no reason it can't. Just make sure your music is in the same folder that it was in on the old drive.

wisely done ;)

i would drag the music folder from the external to <MacintoshHD>/users/<yourname>/, which will replace the folder already there (devoid of content) in your fresh install.

everything will be just as you were used to.
