Itunes back up from Iphone 7 to Iphone 6?

Hi all,
I want to give my IPhone 7 to my daughter and back it up to a new (refurb) Iphone 6.

I don't need (I think) need the hardware and she does.

What is your wisdom about restoring an Iphone 7 backup to an fresh Iphone 6 running IOs 10?

^^^This. Or if the iPhone 6 is on a higher version than the iPhone 7.

You cannot restore an iOS backup to a device with a lesser version than the one the backup came from.

I.e., you can't backup iOS 10 and then restore that backup to a device running iOS 9.

My wisdom is that as long as it's the same iOS version, you can backup anyway you want.

The same or less. You can always restore from a lower version of iOS. You cannot restore from a higher version.
