Itunes Back Up Question

Itunes only shows 2 back ups even though I back up on a daily basis. Is this normal for itunes to only keep the most recent 2 back ups?

Well iTunes only shows one backup from my iPhone. Ever since I updated to the current version of iTunes, I get an error message stating that the backup can not be saved. But I already knew that because of the date not changing and also because I never sat through the backup process that people complained about. I have always wondered if it was even trying to backup, and at least now I know that it was.
