When backing up a 15.4.1 iPhone to a computer via iTunes, does the backup include photographs and videos? I don't want it to because it would be redundant. If it does, is there a way out?
Yeah, this is one of the problems I've had with Apple.
Sprite Backup, a Windows Mobile app made some time in the mid 00s allows me to to pick and choose on my 2009 HTC Touch Pro. I can backup or restore down to a single file if I choose. Hell, my Touch Pro was doing copy/paste and MMS before the iPhone.
If you are using iCloud Photos, then photos and videos that have been uploaded to iCloud will be excluded from the backup (anything that has not yet been uploaded will be part of the backup). If you are not using iCloud Photos, then the camera roll will be part of the backup.
Follow up: I just completed a backup of the iPhone 13 to my computer via iTunes and photos were not backed up, which was what I wanted. My daughter, a self-described iPhone expert, told me that if I disable photo syncing, that a backup won't include the photos. Problem solved! ----
