I tried this in another forum and received no replys, so i'm sure this isn't the right one but I am going to ask this room anyway.

Is there a way to backup your Itunes on your computer? I have used a way in the past which put it all on multiple cds (or dvds) but my library has really grown since. Is there a way I can just back it all up on an external HDD?

Simply drag the iTunes folder onto an external drive with enough free space.

Really thats all?

then lets say I have to reformat my computer, just drag/replace the my documents/itunes folder and overwrite and it will be just like normal?

Windows PC btw

I'm not exactly sure on a PC, but you will be able to import either the Previous iTunes Library or drop the Media Folders back into the newly formatted iTunes.

What then gets backed up (Exported) if while in iTunes you select File/Library/Export?

I also thought iTunes got backed up under User/Music/iTunes? Not sure how you restore from that if at all?
