I want Cog as my default music player.

But every time I press the Play/Pause button (F8), that frakking iTunes comes up.
I used to solve this by just deleting it. but now under Lion, I cannot, when I try I get this:
“iTunes” can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by Mac OS X.

please help!

sorry, have to ask:
did you try DRAGGING it to the trash? hitting 'command-delete' won't do it.

i got rid of mine (having replaced it with a duplicate with custom resources)...

do a 'get info' on iTunes; make sure all in 'sharing & permissions' are set to "read & write"...then try again.

boy, that lion is a pita...how aggressive can they get!!

try changing permissions on the Applications folder (change 'everyone' to 'read & write'), trash iTunes (then change the permissions back).

apple is very insistent on it's apps remaining on your mac.
