iTunes Canada available?

When I try to register for an iTunes account, I am prompted to enter a credit card with an American address. Yet, I understand that iTunes is available in Canada.

What am I doing wrong?

When you open iTunes and go to the iTunes store, on the home page at the bottom, does it indicate that you are in the Canadian store? If not, click on the list box and select Canada and then try to create your account.
