You've prob heard this question or a variation of it thousands of times. So apologies if this is a new thread.

The jist is that I had an Apple G4 but have replaced it with a Mac Book Pro which is a family member's old computer (they just replaced it with a Mac Book Air). So I have given away the G4 to a friend.

OK the powerbook is still registered to the other member of my family. So when I load iTunes and go to the Preferences---> Advanced menu to locate my music which is on my external hard drive - iTunes doesn't read it and I can't access my music.

What should I do? Should I re register the computer to myself (for example will that delete the microsoft office which has been installed under the previous person's names?) so that the names of the computer and external hard drive match?

Any help would be really really appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave.
