Apple iTunes Chief Eddy Cue will attend the Pollstar Live! 2018 Conference where he will sit down for a QA session with Variety Executive Music Editor Shirley Halperin, Variety reported today.

Cue's official title is vice president of Internet Software and Services, and he oversees both iTunes and Apple Music along with Apple Pay, Maps, iCloud services, Apple's video efforts, and more.
"Eddy Cue and his team at Apple have changed the way we listen to music, played a transformative role in artist discovery, and ignited the passion of music fans," said Ray Waddell, president, Media & Conferences, for Oak View Group, producers of Pollstar Live! "We are thrilled to have him address the attendees at Pollstar Live! and can't wait to hear what he has to say."
Other speakers at Pollstar Live! 2018 include William J. Bratton, Troy Carter, Coolio, Mark Cuban, Marc Geiger, Michael Rapino, Alan Krueger, James E. Meyer, Roger Lynch, and more.

The Q&A session, entitled Apple and the Music Business, will take place on the morning of February 7, 2018 at the InterContinental hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Pollstar Live! is a three day event that starts on February 6.

So great to have the opportunity to talk to you!

If I may, my first question, Mr. Cue...

How do you keep your job?

I mean really, seriously, how????

Eddy is Steve's natural successor. A visionary and very charasmatic guy. Apple is lucky to have him so step aside, Tim!

Agreed!

Eddy needs to go! His mishandling of the 4th gen Apple TV alone is justification for showing him the door!

Wow ... really you're hating on Eddie about the ATV4?

Let's see for a moment here:

Apple's Website
- store
- products, forums, etc.

iTunes ... YES ALL the glory of iTunes jukebox is HIS genius
- deals with major music production companies, not just the initial Jobs' deal but growing the library and maintaining it.
- Sync with iPod, iPhone, iPad
- This when the iPod launched ... long before the iPhone so give the guy serious credit JUST for this
- U2 iPod ... yup he was behind that as well, not just Steve J!
- Apple Co for the Beatles music ... that deal YUP
- Beats Inc and their leads for Music streaming (you know buying Spotify was never going to get past any injunction).

Apple App Store
- Key role

iLife Apps
- eventually evolving.

Apple TV
- ATV4 ... not only jumping up the game to match competing products like RokuTV and having lost out on years from early entrants ... having a home TV controller to:
view pictures
screensaver
playback iTunes Music
iOS Applications catered to ATV4 onward
Sync some iOS game progress to ATV4/ATV4K

* The BALLS to be daring to have another radical employee present at WWDC - an employee that isn't the a-typical boring Apple executive with no soul during presentation.
> to be honest ... other than Jobs, Cue ... Bos was the ONLY Apple Event/WWDC presenter with ANY "soul" and uniqueness! Their Different ... isn't that what Apple is supposed to represent, not this early 1980's IBM suit brass like Cook with his triangle hands clasp. Jobs did this in his last 5yrs of Apple as well, not before which seems odd.

Ferrari Board Member!

Apple Internet services.

You guys REALLY should look into what Eddie Cue's responsibilities and contributions are to Apple vs the rest of current and former top executives before slinging internet garbage hate against him.

Some people think Ive is second most important to Apple. I really think it's Cue because of what he's contributed ... it's beyond one, two, three, or four single fields ... and he's done ALL incredibly well! Another fresh designer can come into Apple and gives us remarkable products ... and we can have another Amelio drive Apple business into the ground trying to do what Eddie does.

There seems to be a conflicting trend between the two:

Ive
- iMac ... needs a serious refresh after what Microsoft Surface Studio being launched
- iPhone X ... many have gone nuts over the notch especially after his last interview
- iPhone 6/6S/7/8 ... personally I've owned the 6/6S/and now the 7 love the 7 but 2 attempts to refine it this well?
- Mac Mini ... lol need I say more?

Cue
- iTunes apps removal finally good answering the builk issues so many on these threads complained about
- Apple's web front - perfect and always being refined, best in the business
- App Store ... being this instrumental ... HE should be the one NEVER to be fired Steve, not Ive. Look at the track record over the decades!
- Apple TV
- Apple services!

Guys like eddy are the unsung heroes of major corporations. He has a track record for making everything he touches a major success, including righting the disasters he inherits. He is also singularly responsible for all the web related aspects of Apple. Eddy is also a very knowledgeable and charismatic guys from what a friend of a friend told me.

Agreed!

Too funny, I can literally cut and paste your bullet points as the reasons why he should be arrested for still accepting a paycheck.
