I keep my music on an external drive (a 1TB WD).
Out of the blue, my iTunes library continually gives me a message that it cannot connect to songs on that drive. It has no trouble connecting to the song once I go through the process of locating it, but it seems to need it for every song (and there are a LOT).
I have gone into preferences and checked that it is looking for music in that drive (it is). I've also reset it, changed it and then gone back again. Same problem.
I read a help paper from apple that advised ditching the iTunes library, moving the .xml file, and rebuilding the library from that file. Which worked, but only for 1/3 of the music.
Am I just going to have to re-import everything?
