iTunes Copying Videos?

I've converted a bunch of episodes of various TV Shows. Everything worked smoothly until I placed them in iTunes. iTunes seems to take the videos, and put them in with the "iTunes Music" folder under "TV Shows". Is there anyway to stop iTunes from doing this, and just reading the videos from where I originally placed them? My hard drive is quickly being taken because of the duplicated videos.
