Editing my mp3 files so that the album titles are correct causes iTunes to duplicate the album artwork in Cover Flow view so that I have, for instance, 3 or 4 copies of the same album art for different songs. How can I fix this so that it just displays one album cover?

I had the exact same issue. Heres the thread https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/508623/ that I had started and how I fixed it. Hope this helps.

Great, that seems to work. Thanks. However, I've noticed another issue maybe you can help with. When reimporting album art on some albums it's pulling in inferior looking art. How do I get my original artwork back if iTunes can't find it?

Also, why do the icons in my music folder not correspond with the Cover Flow art?

...Also, why does the downloaded artwork in Now Playing so infrequently correspond with the Cover Flow art, and Cover Flow art isn't the same as the artwork in Get Info Artwork panel? This is all deeply frustrating.

Well there are some files with Cover Flow artwork embedded that I cannot get rid of no matter what I do. I've tried Clear Downloaded Artwork, deleted and added the files to my library again from both my Audio and iTunes directories. I've gone into Get Info and pasted the correct artwork from my hard drive... but iTunes just sticks the same damn artwork up time and time again in both Cover Flow and Album View modes. Yet the correct artwork displays in the Now Playing panel. Go figure.

I am also getting this issue and have tried everything under the sun to rectify it... with no success... any help appreciated

Be sure to fill in "Album Artist" which will take care of this problem. FOr single artists use the same name (e.g. Prince -> Prince) and for compilations (if you have that set up to show as compilations) use "Various Artists" in the "Album Artist" tag - e.g. Pulp Fiction OST: Artist: [x], Album Artist: VArious ARtists.

Hope this helps (which it should)

OK, I have now fixed this and I believe this is the problem:

The displayed album art appears to be that attributed to the first song in an album list. After copying and pasting the desired album art into track 1 (using Get Info) iTunes updated the Cover Flow/Album View artwork.

Hope this helps others.

Tried both... still no dice!

The albu art in all the songs on the album shows the good version but cover flow shows a poor quality version!
