Itunes Deleted my playlist after adding new music

Hey guys and gals I know this has probably been talked about before and I was able to find the info i needed on it one night by googling but I cant find it for the life of me. Basically I put some new cds imported to itunes and once they where in my itunes i went to select from my list and I selected just the 2 new ones i had put in itunes and it wiped everything but the 2 I selected? Whats the trick around this? This is the second time its done this to me and Im tired of having to download my entire playlist again instead of the new ones I add.

Is it possible that you try to sync only checked items (songs) in a list? I think if an item in a playlist is unchecked it might not sync over - have a look in your sync settings. Otherwise, try dragging the albums / songs over to the device directly maybe?
