I have a 2g MC model of the touch which was jailbroken using jailbreakme.com last night. I was able to install my old jailbroken apps, but upon connecting it to iTunes, a sync deleted all of them, and gave me the message about authorizing my computer to even transfer the legal purchases from the appstore to itunes. Is there a loophole around this? Alternatively, what other programs exists which can sync independently of itunes for mac?

That shouldn't happen. Are you sure you didn't accidentally update to 4.0.2? Check in Settings/General/About. Also, what version of iTunes do you have?

What you have to do now is once it starts to sync with iTunes, hit "cancel sync" immediately, and then File/Transfer purchases, and then you should be fine.
