iTunes deleting music.

i've noticed lately that itunes has been deleting music from the hard drive.
I have a pretty big music collection(about 80gb)

This has been happening for the past few days now.

My itunes library is on an airport disk but for some reason itunes deletes them from the hard drive.

I have no idea why, i've tried looking through preferences but nothing.

anyone have any idea why it's doing this?

My iTunes is doing the same thing. All my music is on my External Hard Drive. I have 13,000 songs and I'll say it's deleted about 500 or so. It's deleted several of my purchased songs from iTunes along with several full albums. Contact apple immediately. I've been having conversations with them all week discussing this. They re-applied the songs to my account, but I can't download them because iTunes is giving me a bogus error message.

Umm because itunes is the only one that manages my music....

I don't see how it can be anything else.

I have never seen this, even after updating to iTunes 8.1. I will be keeping an eye on the library after reading this. My iTunes library is stored on a Drobo and backed up to separate 1TB Externals.
